Quiénes somos y qué es Pethood

Pethood (the app and this website) is provided by Vedran Balagović, an individual developer, Bedricha Smetane 13, 10000 Zagreb, Croatia ("Pethood", "we", "us"). The app is published on the Apple App Store under that name and on Google Play under the developer account "Knitted Logic". You can reach us at vedran@knittedlogic.com. Pethood is a hyperlocal community that introduces pet people to one another. We help you discover neighbours, pets, and pet-friendly places nearby, ask and answer local questions, arrange playdates and meet-ups, and offer or request informal favours.

Pethood does not provide, broker, vet, supervise, or guarantee any pet-care service. We are not a pet-care marketplace, an employer, an agency, or an escrow service. Anything members arrange with one another — a walk, a playdate, letting a dog out, pet-sitting, or any other favour or activity — happens directly between those members, offline, and at their own risk, exactly as it would if you had asked in a local Facebook group. We do not verify identities, run background checks, or guarantee the conduct, reliability, safety, or suitability of any member, and we are not a party to and bear no responsibility for any arrangement members make.

Requisitos de uso

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your country) to use the Service. Where local law permits use by minors with parental or guardian consent, that consent must be given and supervised by a responsible adult. By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements and that the information you provide is accurate.

Tu cuenta

You are responsible for:

• keeping your login credentials confidential and your account secure;
• all activity that happens under your account;
• providing accurate profile information and keeping it up to date;
• notifying us promptly of any unauthorised use of your account.

One person, one account. You may not impersonate others or create accounts for pets, businesses, or third parties except where the Service expressly allows it.

Uso aceptable

When using the Service, you agree not to:

• break any applicable law or regulation, or infringe anyone's rights;
• harass, threaten, stalk, defame, or endanger any person or animal;
• post content that is unlawful, hateful, abusive, fraudulent, sexual, or harmful;
• misrepresent your identity, location, or your relationship to a pet;
• scrape, harvest, or misuse other members' personal data or location;
• spam, advertise, or solicit outside the features built for it;
• interfere with, attack, reverse-engineer, or attempt to disrupt the Service;
• use the Service to arrange anything illegal or anything that endangers an animal.

You can report content or members and block other members at any time. We may remove content or restrict accounts that breach these Terms.

Normas de la comunidad: tolerancia cero

There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users on Pethood. This includes harassment, hate speech, threats, sexual content, violence or cruelty to animals, scams, spam, impersonation, and any illegal content.

• No paid advertising outside the sitter directory: favours, playdates, Q&A, posts, comments and chats you didn't receive through your sitter listing must not advertise paid services (prices, rates, phone numbers or links). We block and remove such content and may suspend repeat offenders.
• Report: you can report any post, comment, question, answer, message, pet, place, alert, or profile from its in-app menu.
• Block: you can block any member. Blocked members can no longer see or contact you.
• Review: every report notifies our moderation team immediately. We review reports within 24 hours, remove offending content, and suspend or permanently ban the accounts responsible.

Presentaciones, no servicios

Pethood is a place to meet, ask, and help out — not a booking platform. Favours and informal help between neighbours ("anyone around to let my dog out today?") are exactly that: favours arranged between members. We do not facilitate home access as a transaction, hold money, provide escrow, take a cut, or guarantee that any favour, meet-up, or playdate will happen, be safe, or go well.

You use your own judgement and take your own precautions when meeting people, visiting places, or letting anyone interact with you, your home, or your pet. Favours are informal and peer-to-peer. Paid pet sitting is kept separate, in the sitter directory described below, where Pethood only shows listings and is not a party to any agreement or payment.

Tu contenido y licencia

You keep ownership of the photos, text, reviews, and other content you post ("Your Content"). You are responsible for it and confirm you have the rights to share it.

You grant Pethood a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt, and display Your Content solely to operate, provide, secure, and improve the Service (for example, showing your posts to nearby members). This licence ends when you delete Your Content or your account, except for content others have re-shared, copies kept for legal or backup purposes, or anonymised/aggregated data.

Créditos

Credits are a non-monetary, in-app reciprocity feature — a light way to recognise members who help out and take part. Credits have no cash value, cannot be purchased, sold, exchanged, transferred for money, or redeemed for cash, and are not a currency, a payment method, or property. They are not the way care is paid for on Pethood. We may adjust, expire, or remove credits, or change how the feature works, at our discretion and without liability.

Directorio de cuidadores: solo anuncios

Members may publish a sitter listing (an advertisement) describing services such as walks, drop-ins, overnight stays, boarding or day care, with indicative prices. Sitters are independent and are not employees, agents or contractors of Pethood. Pethood only displays listings and lets owners start a conversation from them.

Pethood is not a party to any agreement between an owner and a sitter, does not process, hold or guarantee payments for sitting, and takes no commission on them. Owners and sitters agree the service, price, insurance, keys and any other terms directly, and pay each other outside the Service. Each is responsible for checking the other, for complying with tax, licensing and animal-welfare rules, and for their own conduct.

The "ID verified" badge means a member completed an identity check (ID document and selfie) with our provider Stripe. It confirms identity only. It is not a background check, a reference, or an endorsement of anyone's skills or reliability. "Phone verified" means the member confirmed a phone number by SMS. Listings can be reported from the listing menu; we remove listings that break these Terms.

Suscripciones y compras en la app

Pethood+ and Sitter Pro are optional auto-renewing subscriptions sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Prices are shown in the app before you buy. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel them in your store account settings; cancelling stops the next renewal, and access continues until the end of the paid period.

Boosts (for example, showing your playdate at the top for 24 hours or featuring your sitter listing for 7 days) and the ID-verification check are one-off digital purchases used immediately in the app. The verification fee pays for the check itself, whatever its outcome. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies and your statutory rights. Lost-pet alerts and favours can never be boosted or paid for, and credits can never be bought.

Sin garantías

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, and — to the maximum extent permitted by law — we make no warranty about any member, place, content, favour, meet-up, or arrangement made through the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by law.

Limitación de responsabilidad

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pethood is not liable for the conduct of any member or for anything members arrange between themselves — including any injury, loss, damage, theft, or harm to you, another person, your home, or any animal arising from a meet-up, playdate, favour, walk, sitting arrangement, or any other offline interaction.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pethood and its officers, employees, and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability is limited to the greater of the amounts you paid us (if any) in the 12 months before the claim, or EUR 100. These limits do not exclude liability that cannot be excluded by law (such as for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or fraud).

Indemnización

You agree to indemnify and hold Pethood harmless from any claims, damages, losses, and reasonable costs (including legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, Your Content, your breach of these Terms, or any arrangement or interaction you have with another member.

Suspensión y terminación

Deleting your account: you can delete your account at any time in the app (Settings → Delete account), or by emailing vedran@knittedlogic.com. Deletion removes your profile, pets, posts, and uploaded photos.

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms, create risk or legal exposure, or if we discontinue the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (content licence carve-outs, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity, and governing law) continue to apply.

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download and use the Pethood app on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use.

If you downloaded the app from Apple's App Store

• These Terms are concluded between you and us only, not with Apple Inc. ("Apple"). We, not Apple, are solely responsible for the app and its content.
• Your licence is limited to use of the app on Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
• Apple has no obligation whatsoever to provide any maintenance or support services for the app.
• If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the app. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app.
• Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the app or your possession or use of it, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to conform to any legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy, or similar legislation.
• Apple is not responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement, or discharge of any claim that the app or your possession and use of it infringes a third party's intellectual property rights.
• You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and once you accept them Apple has the right (and is deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.

If you downloaded the app from Google Play

These Terms are between you and us, not Google LLC ("Google"). Your use of Google Play is also subject to Google's own terms of service. Google has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app and is not responsible for the app or its content.

Ley aplicable

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Croatia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The courts of Zagreb, Croatia have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights that entitle you to bring proceedings in your country of residence.

Cambios en estos términos

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you (for example, in the app or by email) and update the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
